Fall Home Makeover

I know what you are thinking, fall makeover and my air conditioning is still on. I hear you, but soon it will be time to get real cozy. During this transitional period I like to prep my home for fall. Living in New York you never know how soon fall will hit once September starts. This year September made us well aware it’s still summer with a heart wave. As I prepped for this episode, I thought to myself this is going to be hard. I’m sitting her in a long sheer brown tank dress!

Nothing like being prepared. So here are 3 major things I do in the fall;

  1. Let Go- I let go of the fact that cooler weather will approach and I don’t look back. I also let go of things I feel I no longer need in my life and in my home especially. I remove everything in each room and shake things up a bit. Sometimes I make donations and sometimes I bring out different accessories that I have in rotation. Every year I usually add something new. Something I love as I like to curate my home over time.
  2. Deep clean- during the summer I spend a lot of time away from home, so fall is the time I am home more. While I still clean my house in the summer, in the fall I like to wash my walls, baseboards and dust really good. I clean all my window coverings and sometimes I add another layer like heavier drapery for late September/ October before the heat is turned on the keep the house warmer.
  3. Re-organize- Apart of letting go, I also like to reorganize my closet. I move my fall clothes closer to my reach and move the summer clothes up. I also try on my fall wardrobe to make sure everything fits and Im still in love. I also make sure I am not missing anything to make my looks complete, like accessories and such. My fall coats are assessed and cleaned or repaired if necessary.

This year, I put together a few decor items to shift your home into fall. You can check them out here. I earn a small commission from each sale and if there is something you would like me to curate for you I would be happy to. Email me your wish list and budget at [email protected]. The items I sourced are grouped together by style and color. There are also mirrors, throws, art and decor as well as a moroccan mint scented candle because, Alicja and I love tea! Besides it smells divine.

Thanks for your support it means the world to Us!

xoxo
